AngioJet Platinum Redesign

A legacy system, reimagined for modern use and clinical clarity.

As lead designer with the Insight team, the Boston Scientific AngioJet Platinum was re-envisioned to meet modern clinical demands while honoring its established legacy. Originally developed by Possis and transformed by Insight in the late 1990s, the system was refreshed in 2014 following Boston Scientific’s acquisition. This third-generation redesign addressed complex challenges in usability, ergonomics, and workflow efficiency, requiring the integration of human factors insights with strict engineering constraints. Through strategic design leadership and close collaboration with engineering, the project delivered a refined, brand-aligned solution that enhanced clinical performance, improved user interaction, and strengthened the product’s position within Boston Scientific’s portfolio.
